The FUE Method

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a hair transplant method based on the principle of acquiring hair follicles in the donor zone without the necessity to perform a linear cut. Hair follicles are extracted as smoothly as grafts thanks to micro incisions. Hair roots are acquired individually in vivo and they are inserted in areas without hair.

  • Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which entered literature in 2002, facilitates trouble-free hair transplant without visible traces. Therefore, this natural hair transplant became a favorite solution for the issue of hair loss worldwide.
  • Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a better hair transplant method compared to the previous one called FUT. Regeneration with the FUT technique lasts about 2 months. The FUT hair transplant method leaves scars at the neck (back of the head) due to the incisions and stitches. The FUT technique is obsolete and practically it is not used anymore. On the other hand, the newest hair transplant technique, the FUE technique, facilitates hair transplant without cutting or stitching. What Is the FUE Sapphire Hair Transplant Method?

  • Hair transplant using a sapphire tip is an innovation, which is used in combination with the FUE method. Micro Sapphire tips made of real Sapphire are used to open channels during hair transplant using the FUE method. . The use of special Sapphire tips instead of the traditional metal blades increases the success-rate.
  • Opening the channels at the micro level during the FUE Sapphire hair transplant method minimizes the creation of scabs and the healing process is faster. Using Sapphire tips, which allow for a more exact transplant than metal blades, it is possible to transplant hair follicles closer to each other. This way the patients can achieve more satisfactory and more natural results.
  • The smooth surface of the Sapphire tips, which have antibacterial properties, ensures an excellent hair transplant process thanks to their physical properties, such as strength, sharpness and durability. When a Sapphire tip is used for the hair transplant, fewer vibrations are created. Therefore the risk of tissue damage is minimized and the results of using Sapphire tips are much better.

Stages of Hair Transplant Using the Sapphire FUE Method

  • Consultation: The purpose of the consultations is to examine the donor and the target zone and after taking a blood sample, also the results obtained from it. We decide on the number of grafts and the hairstyle together with the patient. After defining the area where the hair will be transplanted, the hairline is drawn and the anesthesia phase is started.
  • Anesthesia: Local anesthesia methods are preferred for hair transplant. The anesthesia delivery system without the use of a needle ensures broader and more stable proliferation of the anesthetic than the application of local anesthesia using a needle. Thanks to this new technique, anyone who has not yet decided for the transplant using the FUE method for fear of the need can stop being afraid.
  • Extraction: Hair transplant using Comfort-IN painless anesthesia and the Sapphire FUE technique is very comfortable for the patients during the surgery. Hair follicles are extracted from the donor zone using the most suitable micro tips for hair follicles, which are 0.6 – 0.7 – 0.8 mm. The acquired roots are inserted into the channels using the Sapphire FUE technique.
  • Opening Channels: Opening channels has a big effect on the appearance of hair and it directly determines the angle, direction and thickness of hair. Therefore, this process is the most crucial step for a successful transplant using the FUE method. The use of a Sapphire tip instead of a steel blade during the FUE hair transplant method minimizes damage of the skin and significantly increases the success-rate of the procedure.
  • Implant: Hair roots are transplanted into the opened channels using sharp, smooth and solid Sapphire tips.   • The Nove MIC® Method: The Nove MIC® method is a process of examination and classification of grafts acquired from the donor zone under a microscope. The Nove MIC® method, which analyzes the number of hair follicles as a whole, minimizes the risk and it help to achieve more natural results. One, two or three hair follicles can be seen in grafts acquired from the hair root. Thanks to the Nove MIC® method the grafts are easy to analyze and hair roots can be quickly sorted through. Individual roots (grafts containing a single hair follicle) are used to create the front hairline. The remaining double and triple grafts are inserted into the back areas of the head. The Nove MIC® method prevents accidental insertion of the grafts. Using the Nove MIC® method of analyzing hair roots in combination with the Sapphire FUE technique, it is possible to achieve natural and thick hair.

  • First washing of hair is done a few days after the transplant. There are no cuts or stitches with this method, however small wounds in the form of dots can be seen on the skin during the extraction of hair follicles. These dots are completely healed within 2 weeks. It takes 10-12 months for the hair to get its natural form.
