The Nove MIC® Method

The Nove MIC® Method

  • In the above-described preparation stage the grafts are divided based on the number of follicles. For the most natural look, grafts containing a single follicle should be transplanted to the front line of hair, while the others should be transplanted to other areas.
  • This step is a very important stage of the transplant, which is taken for granted in other hair transplant centers. In many centers, the division process is done manually, which leads to incorrect calculations. In Hair Doctor Slovakia, we use the Nove MIC® division system. After collection, the grafts are counted and grouped under a microscope; therefore, the error deviation is virtually zero. Thanks to this our patients have a natural look and they are satisfied with the final result.

Differences between the DHI and the Sapphire FUE Technique

  • The selection of the hair transplant technique depends on many factors, such as the number of necessary grafts, price, recovery period, etc. Therefore, when comparing the DHI and the Sapphire FUE technique it cannot be said that one method is better than the other. Additionally, many centers using the FUE technique use different devices, which impact the final result. The most advanced type of the FUE method is the use of a Sapphire blade to open the channels. These blades cause fewer scars and the look of the hair is more natural than with the use of steel blades using the FUE methods. The DHI method uses the CHOI implantation pen instead of the blades.
  • The main difference between these two methods is that with the DHI method, the channels are not opened during a separate stage of the hair transplant but immediately after the extraction stage. However, if the client requires more than 2,000 grafts to be transplanted, the DHI method cannot be done in a single session. The main advantage of the DHI method is that regeneration is faster and scars do not form. If the donor zone is suitable with the Sapphire FUE method, the maximum number of grafts can be implanted.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the DHI Technique

Like all others hair transplant method, the DHI method has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of the DHI method include:

  • Faster regeneration
  • No scars
  • Transplant of follicles with a high density
  • Shaving is not necessary

Disadvantages of the DHI Method

  • No more than 2,000 grafts during one session
  • High costs
  • Longer duration of the surgery
  • Since the learning curve of the DHI technique requires more time, a worker doing hair transplant using the DHI technique with insufficient experience with the CHOI pen can damage the ends and other hair follicles

Regeneration and Results of the Hair Transplant Using the DHI Method

  • The regeneration period is very short for the DHI method. After the surgery, the patients can continue with their ordinary everyday life. The results will start to show more 6 months after the surgery. Hair at the top of the roots, which are implanted during this process, usually start to fall out after 2 – 2.5 months and after 3 months the newly transplanted hair will start to grow. For 6 months after the surgery, all types of hair styling should be done using only scissors (preferably after the 3rd month after the surgery) and very carefully in order to not damage the implanted grafts.
